MUSIC EDUCATION BLOG – “ON THE ROAD” WITH CHUCK AND SANDI
Introduction to “On The Road” - Ad..
What’s your dream?
Join us on our musical travel adventure that we’re about to embark on. We’ll explore all sorts of places where music exists across the United States and report back on the Lesson Pros Music Blog, and share what we’ve learned with you. Stories will be told of the people we meet, places we go, and the meaning behind the music found there and you get a front-row seat by keeping tuned into our Music Blog.
Our names are Chuck and Sandi Millar and we’re traveling musicians who’ve played music all over the United States. Our main genres of music are singer/songwriter, folk, and bluegrass music. We love all types of music and aim to foster interest in all types of music and promote the education of it, whatever type of music it may be and wherever we are in the world.
For the past 15 years, we’ve been on the road doing music full time, taught and played everything from huge music festivals to the tiniest coffee houses, and loving every minute of it. While a lot of time has been spent working on music lessons businesses and other jobs at home, we’ve decided that we are happiest when touring and traveling the United States. We hope to expand to other parts of the world. As music writers we’ve wanted to start our new adventure along with a new project, the Lesson Pros Music Blog and are excited to share it with you.
Our daughters are Hayley and Kaysie. From time to time, they might show up on this blog. One is in college and the other is graduating from high school this year. We made a plan about three years ago. The day our daughters graduated from high school, we would head back on the road to do music full time again. Hayley and Kaysie are encouraging and supportive.
Downsizing our house has been a monstrous task since Sandi has been collecting antiques since 1990. Here are some ideas on ways to get rid of your stuff.
#1 – We’ve had over 20 online auctions through k-bid (a local online auction house)
#2 – Donated to various charities
#3 – Sold stuff on craigslist
#4 – Sold on the Facebook Garage Sale Sites
#5 – Sold on the Facebook Marketplace
#6 – Sold on eBay
#7 – Sold on Amazon
Who knew how much time it would take to get rid of everything you have collected your whole lives. It’s crazy how freeing it is to let go of all the piles of stuff you’ve collected over the years.
Our goal of the music blog was for two reasons.
#1 – To help musicians to become the best they can be.
#2 – To inspire and foster the culture of music in the world by sharing our musical experiences.
Now, the time is getting closer and our projected leave date is January 1st, 2019. (We actually left June 1st, 2019 and are loving life on the road!!!)
